Yes. Housing Benefit will help you pay your rent.

Yes, although you share communal facilities.

Will Grenfell find me a flat?

Very rarely, due to a shortage of social housing in the areas in which we work. Most tenants will have to move into private accommodation at the end of their stay.

Can I live with my partner/child?

No. GHA houses single homeless people only.

Does Grenfell have male/female only properties?

Yes, we do. Although most properties are mixed.

How long does it take to get housed if I am on the waiting list?

Grenfell tries to keep waiting lists as short as possible to reduce the time people have to wait. It's impossible to estimate how long someone will have to wait as it depends on a suitable vacancy coming up. We try to match individuals to vacancies and people also need to bear in mind the profile of our client group; therefore we cannot always house the person who has been longest on the list first. It's important for all people to keep in contact with us, particularly when their circumstances change.

How many people will I have to share a house with?

7 bed spaces – 2 to 3 people
Foyer – 2 to 4 people sharing a house/flat
16 bed sits – 5 shared bathrooms

How can my organisation become a referral agent for Grenfell?

Organisations wishing to become a referral agent should ring the Housing Services Manager to discuss it. Some of our referral agents have to be agreed by the local authorities. Before an organization becomes a referral agent they will need to visit Grenfell.
